Why Law? Why do you want to be a lawyer?

The questions of "Why law?" and "Why do you want to be a lawyer?" are some of the basic questions that are asked in the interviews in almost anywhere we are willing to pursue with our field. These may sometimes seem very obvious. But when we look deep into it, we can see that knowing law has given us a slight more edge in the legal profession and has made us justify our arguments with logical facts and proper reasoning and being a lawyer will add more prowess to this edge and skill that we have developed in the years of pupillage. It requires a high value for ethics to be a lawyer as it is not a career for one's own benefit but what benefits one can provide to the society.

Law is the basic necessity of life like food, shelter and clothes. Every person needs to be aware of their rights and duties that has been provided by the legislation. It not only helps one to be more accustomed with the legal works but would help one in their daily life. And professionals of law one has the moral obligation to distribute their knowledge acquired by them.

Do you think being a lawyer just a dream job for us or earning a huge pile of money is the real motive behind choosing this profession? No, then you are looking from a perspective which does not show the truth. The profession of law does not provide us monetary profit in every circumstance sometimes it takes about five to ten years of practice to earn some remuneration. It is like any other profession which deals with the problems of general people who are layman regarding the subject. A person comes to us for our help with high hopes. This is where ethics come in. Do we take that for granted or give our 100% in helping the client get justice?

Providing justice is not a job of a lawyer but fighting for justice is very much within the daily curriculum. As the popular movie, "The Dark Knight" states that the lawyers are the 'White Knights' of the city. We fight for justice in the daylight and very much within the legal bounds. We are the real crusaders wearing the black and white uniform and using our skills and knowledge to seek justice for the citizens.

So, being a lawyer for me is being able to help people get the true justice they seek for and spreading the knowledge of law among the commoners who are unaware of the subject of law. And in this way, I will not only be contributing to me or my family but the society at large. This is the reason I chose law as no other subject would bring me inner peace as much as the legal field has given me in all these years.

So that is my perception of selecting law. What are your thoughts.
Do you agree that the legal profession given a better scope for people in general?
Why have you selected law as your profession?
