Coco Full Movie Review

Well, better late than never I have finally watched Coco and made sure I watched it several times before I would actually review for the movie and I must say I love Pixar for their way of storytelling as every single time it gives a huge emotional moment which leaves its audience weeping like a baby.
Let's take a moment as this post will contain spoilers for the movie and if you are still waiting for the right moment to watch the movie I warn you that this post contains SPOILERS AHEAD.

As usual I have split up my review into small segments for better understanding.

Animation:

Pixar is known for its huge animated worlds and that is what is seen in Coco. It is mesmerising to see the picturesque Land of the Dead. Though the spirit guide part was almost similar to that of Moana but the features given to them was very unique. They were colourful and magical visually. The colour frame of the movie was mostly given a warm tone and the orangish shade gave the feeling of warmth that one can experience while one is around family.
Every one of the souls of ansestors look very different from each other and each had a distinct feature and a different expression.
Even the audience at Ernesto de la Cruz's show had great movements, how they were enjoying the song was picturised perfectly. They did not seem to have been animated.

Music:

When it comes to musicals Disney is known for its mesmerising lyrics and very soothing music. Coco has some of the memorable songs that you can find. The background music gives you the feel that you are in Mexico by yourself and the way the songs are placed shows the various emotions of the characters. The main song of the movie is no doubt 'Remember Me'. The song was sung in three different style in the movie itself and one being at the time of end credits each one showing a different emotion and that of three different character.

Story:

This is the first animation movie made by Disney celebrating solely the Mexican Culture. Just like All Soul's Day, Dia De Mortas is the day when people of Mexico remembers there ancestors and celebrate the day by putting up their photos in ofrendas and present their favorite foods and drinks as offerings.
The movie builds up the character of Miguel as a lover of music and a musician who has been forced to work in his family's livelihood of making shoes and his passionate love for music curses the Rivera Family when he takes the guitar of deceased Ernesto de la Cruz. The Rivera family, from which the boy belongs, has a long line of ancestors who have been making shoes and each of them hates music as one of their ancestors that they do not name had left the family in pursuit of music.
The story of how Miguel in search of his passion went on to discover the truth about his ancestral history is the real story that lies underneath the movie.

I rate this movie 4.5/5.
